Ek bar ek manochikitsak ek tanaav mukti kaaryshaala ko sambodhit kar rahi thi. Usne ek paani s aadha bharaa hua gilaas uthaaya to sabhi ne socha ki ab vah mashhoor sawaal puchhegi ki ye gilaas “adha bharaa hai ya khali” ?? Lekin us manochikitsak ne muskurate hue pucha, is gilaas ka vajan kitna hai?

badaa asaan sa sawaal tha – sabhi ne javaab diya. kisi ne kaha 100 ml, kisi ne kaha 150 ml, kisi ne 120ml….

fir us manochiktsak ne kaha ki thahro. iska actual vajan ke koi mayne nahin hain. ye to is par nirbhar karta hai ki main is gilaas ko kitni der ke liye uthati hun. agar main ise 15 minute ke liye uthaun to iska vajan 100 ml mahsoos hoga. agar 1 ghante ke liye uthaun to yah kai kilo jaisa mahsoos hone lagega. agar main sham tak utha kar khadi rahun to yah gilaas mujhe 100 kilo se bhi jyaada taqleef dega. mera haath bhi sunn pad sakta hai.

karyshaala mein bhag le rahe logon ne pucha ki is ka matlab kya hai? tanaav mukti se iska kya sambandh hai?

fir us manochiktsak ne kaha ki tanaav aur chintayen is gilaas ki tarah hain. agar ham unke bare mein thodi der tak sochein to kuch nahi hoga. agar ham thodi aur der tak sochein to tan aur man donon thak jayenge. agar ham sara din unke bare mein sochte rahenge to ham mansik aur shareerik roop se nidhaal ho jayenge. man ki sari shanti bhang ho jayegi.

isliye jaise hamein gilaas ko thodi der bad rakh dena chahiye, usi tarah hamari chintaon aur tanaav ko bhi kuch der tak unke bare mein sochne ke bad rakh dena chahiye yani bad mein fir koi hal khojne ke liye chod dena chahiye.


jab bhi aap bahut tanaav mein hon to yad rakhiye – gilaas ko rakh dena hai, sara din utha kar nahin rakhna hai !

Inspiring Story – A Glass half filled with water (English version)

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she enquired: “How heavy is this glass of water?”

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”

She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.”

Remember to put the glass down.
